Tea lovers and Disney fans can finally rejoice! The beloved Garden View Tea Room at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa may soon return. After remaining closed since the 2020 pandemic shutdowns, this elegant tea service venue is expected to reopen following the upcoming lobby renovation project.

Grand Floridian Lobby Renovation Plans
Disney recently announced a major overhaul for the Grand Floridian Resort lobby. The renovation will begin in April 2025 and continue through November. During this time, guests will notice construction during daytime hours with portions of the lobby closed periodically.
Despite the construction, Disney plans to keep all pools and most resort dining options open. Path adjustments may be necessary, so guests should allow extra time for travel around the resort.
The lobby work marks the final phase of a multi-year transformation for Disney’s flagship resort. When complete, the renovated space will maintain its Victorian elegance while adding fresh enhancements.

What About the Garden View Tea Room?
As part of the 2025 remodel work, Garden View Tea Room will also see some changes. Upon reopening, the Garden View Tea Room will likely showcase refreshed décor that complements the newly remodeled lobby. Minor layout, operational, and back-of-house adjustments are also expected, as Disney brings the space up-to-date with modern standards.
Many Disney fans have wondered about the fate of the Garden View Tea Room. This cherished spot offered British-style afternoon tea complete with finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries.
Before its closure, the venue hosted two distinct experiences. The afternoon tea service welcomed guests from 12:45 to 2:30 pm daily. Meanwhile, the Perfectly Princess Tea Party delighted young royals at 10 am with special appearances by Princess Aurora.
While Disney has not officially confirmed dates, it is expected that the Garden View Tea Room will reopen after the lobby renovation completes. This points to a possible holiday 2025 return for the elegant tea service.
Grand Floridian’s Ongoing Transformation
The Grand Floridian has undergone extensive updates over the past several years. These changes began with the debut of Enchanted Rose Lounge in 2019, replacing the former Mizner’s Lounge.
Next, Cítricos received a Mary Poppins-inspired makeover. Guest rooms throughout the resort were modernized while building exteriors kept their classic charm. The Grand Floridian Spa also completed its remodel in 2022.

Other Dining Options at the Resort
Despite the Garden View Tea Room’s absence, the Grand Floridian offers exceptional dining choices. The Grand Floridian Café serves comfort food classics including their famous buttermilk-fried chicken.
Fine dining enthusiasts can enjoy two signature restaurants. Narcoossee’s delivers waterfront elegance while Cítricos offers a refined Mary Poppins-themed atmosphere.
Most notably, 1900 Park Fare finally reopened in April 2024 after a four-year closure. This character dining experience now features Aladdin, Cinderella, Mirabel, and Tiana. The restaurant maintains its beloved strawberry soup while showcasing fresh décor.
What to Expect When Tea Service Returns
The signature tea experiences should remain largely familiar to past guests. Tea enthusiasts can look forward to various packages featuring fine teas, finger sandwiches, scones with Devonshire cream, and delectable pastries. The children’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party may also make a triumphant return.
For now, Disney fans must practice patience. The wait for this elegant tradition continues a bit longer. However, the Grand Floridian’s lobby transformation promises to create an even more magnificent setting for afternoon tea.
