New Lightning Lane Premier Pass Coming to Disney World and Disneyland This Month

Following recent changes at Walt Disney World which saw the replacement of Genie+ with the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, both Walt Disney World and Disneyland will be introducing a new option – Lightning Lane Premier Pass.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass at Disneyland and Disney World

Currently, Disneyland utilizes the Lightning Lane Single Pass and Multi Pass names. Unlike Walt Disney World, Disneyland’s system did not change when those new names were rolled out.

The new system will debut on October 23 at Disneyland and October 30 at Walt Disney World. Pricing will initially be as follows:

  • Walt Disney World: between $129 and $429 per person, per day
  • Disneyland: from $300 to $400 per person, per day

What is Lightning Lane Premier Pass?

This new pass offers a one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane experience in a park for one day. Here’s what you need to know:

  • At Walt Disney World, Lightning Lane Premier Pass will offer access to every Lightning Lane Single Pass and Multi Pass attraction one time, at one park.
  • At Disneyland, Lightning Lane Premier Pass will offer access to every Lightning Lane Single Pass and Multi Pass attraction one time, at both parks.
  • No timeframe or reservation is needed to utilize Lightning Lanes. Guests with Lightning Lane Premier Pass can ride at any time of their choosing.
  • Lightning Lane Premier Pass includes entry to all Lightning Lane attractions – both Single Pass and Multi Pass tiers.
  • Digital downloads of PhotoPass attraction photos and videos, plus access to Disney PhotoPass Lenses, is included.

Eligibility and Purchase Details

The initial rollout is limited to guests staying at:

  • Disney Deluxe Resort hotels
  • Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts
  • Select other hotels (including Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels, and Shades of Green Resort)

Eligible guests can purchase passes up to 7 days before their resort stay, starting at 7:00 AM Eastern Time. The pass can be bought for the entire length of stay, up to 14 days.

Important Considerations

  • Valid park admission is required before purchasing the Lightning Lane Premier Pass.
  • Park reservations may be necessary, depending on your admission type and visit date.

This new offering promises to enhance the Disney park experience, allowing guests to make the most of their time by bypassing regular queues for popular attractions. As the pilot program rolls out, it’s sure to be a sought-after addition for those looking to maximize their Disney vacation.

Disneyland is currently beginning a multi-year expansion plan. Two new Avengers Campus rides, ‘Coco’ and ‘Avatar’ lands and attractions, and more are in the works.
