Luminous and Fantasmic! Canceled Tonight Due to Hurricane Helene

As Hurricane Helene inches closer to the Florida coast, Walt Disney World has announced that both Luminous and Fantasmic! are canceled tonight due to the storm.

Luminous and Fantasmic! Canceled for September 26

With conditions worsening in Central Florida, Disney World has made several cancellations for today. The first such cancellation was for tonight’s scheduled Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. With that change, Magic Kingdom hours were adjusted to an 8:00pm close, but no fireworks show is scheduled.

Now, Luminous: The Symphony of Us has been canceled at EPCOT. Meanwhile, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has canceled both the 8:00pm and 9:30pm showtimes for Fantasmic!. Additionally, the 8:50pm performance Wonderful World of Animation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been canceled.

With wind gusts in excess of 50mph forecasted during the late evening, it would not be safe for performers, technicians, nor guests to be exposed to the elements and pyrotechnics. While these shows have modified versions which limit fireworks in breezier conditions, these tropical storm force winds are well in excess of that.

With Luminous and Fantasmic! canceled tonight, guests should monitor future showtimes in the coming days. For continued updates on Disney World’s operating hours for today, visit the official Walt Disney World website.
