Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Canceled Due to Hurricane Helene

As a result of Hurricane Helene, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for Thursday, September 26, has been canceled. Walt Disney World currently sits under a tropical storm warning as the system approaches Florida.

Disney has said that they will refund all tickets for the event. As many of the party’s offerings are impacted by inclement weather, proactively cancelling the party which likely would not have held its parades or stage shows avoids bigger headaches for guests and cast members tomorrow.

Unfortunately for some of those guests, attending on an alternate event night may not be an option. Yesterday, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party completely sold out for the 2024 season.

Magic Kingdom was originally scheduled to close at 6:00pm, with the event beginning at 7:00pm. With the Halloween party being canceled, the park will now stay open until 8:00pm for all guests. Barring further changes, no fireworks show will be performed tomorrow evening at Magic Kingdom.

Disney’s Statement on Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Being Canceled

Here is the full release from Walt Disney World Resort:

We are always looking to deliver a great and enjoyable experience for our guests. Due to forecasted weather and the impact to our outdoor entertainment offerings, we are cancelling Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 26. Guest tickets will be refunded.

While Magic Kingdom was scheduled to close tomorrow at 6 p.m., we are extending operating hours until 8 p.m. for guests to enjoy more time in the park.
