Williams, now 92, received the AFI Life Achievement Award in 2016, marking the first time a composer was honored with this prestigious accolade. The documentary’s director, Laurent Bouzereau, shared his personal connection to Williams’ music, reflecting on how the composer’s scores captivated him as a child growing up in France. Bouzereau emphasized the importance of telling Williams’ story, not just as a tribute to one of the greatest composers of all time, but also to highlight the enduring power of orchestral music in film.

The documentary features interviews with an impressive array of Williams’ collaborators and admirers, including Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, Gustavo Dudamel, J.J. Abrams, Ron Howard, and many others. These interviews provide insight into the profound impact Williams has had on both the film industry and his peers.
