Marceline’s Confectionery is getting a magical makeover and will reopen as Disney Wonderful World of Sweets. Guests can also watch as fresh Werther’s Original Caramel popcorn is made in an exhibition kitchen viewable from the promenade, adding a touch of whimsy to your shopping experience.

Kawaii Slime Cart: A Playful New Addition

This fall, Downtown Disney will welcome the Kawaii Slime Cart, bringing the cutest slime creations to guests of all ages. Kawaii, meaning “cute” in Japanese, perfectly describes this mom-owned business known for its imaginative slime concoctions. New Restaurants by Michelin-Starred Chef Joe Isidori

Foodies have something special to look forward to with two new restaurant concepts from Michelin-starred Chef Joe Isidori. Set to open on the former site of Tortilla Jo’s, these eateries will offer something for everyone:

Full-Service Steakhouse: This restaurant will provide a warm and sophisticated dining experience, featuring prime cuts of beef, fresh seafood, and inventive cocktails. Whether you’re a bourbon connoisseur or a fan of expertly crafted cocktails, this steakhouse is sure to become a favorite.
Quick-Service BBQ Eatery: For a more casual dining option, the adjacent BBQ spot will serve traditional barbecue dishes like pulled pork, beef brisket, and smoked wings, all enhanced with unique spices and house-made sauces. The outdoor bar will also offer a variety of craft beers and moonshine cocktails, perfect for a laid-back meal.

Earl of Sandwich and The Carnaby Tavern: A British Invasion

Earl of Sandwich fans will soon have a new place to enjoy their favorite bites with the opening of The Carnaby Tavern, a new concept celebrating the swinging ‘60s British Invasion. Located on the second floor above a new Earl of Sandwich location, The Carnaby Tavern will feature a patio and an indoor/outdoor bar, offering a nostalgic atmosphere paired with delicious food and drinks.

As Downtown Disney District continues to evolve, the current Earl of Sandwich location on the east side will close in 2025 to make way for a new Porto’s Bakery. In the meantime, guests can still enjoy their favorite sandwiches at the Earl of Sandwich and Earl of Sandwich Tavern on the east side or at the new pop-up pod near Star Wars Trading Post.
