RUMOR: New Disney Villains Show to Be Named “Forces of Evil”

Tuesday, Disney announced a new Disney Villains show would soon be coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Some art and a few details were shared. However, a name for the show was not announced. But today we have a rumored name for the upcoming entertainment offering centered around Disney villains: Forces of Evil.

Villains: Forces of Evil

Magic mirror on the wall, all the forces of evil I call.

A line most Disney fans will recognize, but might not immediately place where it’s from. Maybe not so coincidentally, it’s from another show that has its fair share of villains: Fantasmic! It’s uttered by the Old Hag (Evil Queen) nightly, mere steps away at the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater, in one of the scarier sequences of the nighttime spectacular. A montage of Disney villains, including Cruella de Vil, then appears.

Disney has described the show as taking place in “the mysterious, reflective realm of the Magic Mirror.” The concept art also reflects that mirror motif, with screen-based “mirrors” spread around the stage.

Cruella, as seen in the show’s concept art below, is one of a few characters confirmed to be a part of the performance. The concept art appears to show a scene depicting Hill Hall, her frightful mansion from 101 Dalmatians. In addition to Cruella, Captain Hook and Maleficent will also have significant roles.

Not the First Forces of Evil

“Forces of Evil” has been used in a title by Disney before. Star vs. The Forces of Evil, an animated show you can find on Disney+ right now, aired on Disney XD and Disney Channel from 2015 to 2019. While this stage show will have nothing to do with that animated series, we know it’s a name Disney will have been actively using for a decade when the show debuts. During the same time that series aired, Sunset Showcase housed a limited time offering called Club Villain. Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy later moved in, but the theater will be reclaimed by villains once more.

The new show could be called Villains: Forces of Evil or simply Forces of Evil. It could also be named a thousand other things – keep in mind this name is only a rumor at present. Until Disney officially announces a name, and even sometimes after, attraction names are subject to and frequently changed.

Villains at Walt Disney World

Villains are a theme for Disney recently, with a Disney Villains-themed land officially announced for the Magic Kingdom. Announced at the D23 Expo, this highly anticipated addition will be part of Magic Kingdom’s largest expansion ever. While specific details are still under wraps, Disney has revealed that the land will feature two major attractions, along with villainous dining and shopping experiences on an “incredibly twisted grand scale.” The concept art hints at a dark and menacing atmosphere, with sharp points, mysterious areas, and what appears to be a thrilling roller coaster track.
