Starbucks Files Permits for Remodel of Disney Springs Marketplace Location

Starbucks is set to give its Disney Springs Marketplace location a fresh new look. This comes on the heels of a recent remodel of the West Side Starbucks at the Walt Disney World shopping and dining complex.

Disney Springs Starbucks Remodel

The Marketplace Starbucks, which opened in May 2014, is a convenient walk-up window situated in front of the World of Disney store. This grab-and-go spot is perfect for guests looking to quickly fuel up before continuing their Disney Springs adventure. While it may lack the seating and ambiance of its West Side counterpart, the Marketplace Starbucks has become a staple for many visitors.

Permits for the Marketplace refurbishment have been issued to Elfrink Custom Construction and Sampro Electrical Service, indicating work could begin as early as next week. Guests should check the location’s website for the most up to date hours of operation.

In contrast, the West Side Starbucks is a flagship location that opened just a few weeks after its Marketplace sibling. This expansive 4,000-square-foot café offers both indoor and outdoor seating, providing a relaxing respite from the bustling Disney Springs atmosphere. Guests can enjoy the full Starbucks menu, including sandwiches, salads, and specialty coffee drinks, all while taking in the picturesque views of Lake Buena Vista.

The Evolution of Disney Springs

Disney Springs has undergone quite the transformation since its humble beginnings as the Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village in 1975. Over the years, the complex has been expanded and rebranded several times, evolving into the vibrant destination it is today.

In 2013, plans were announced to transform the then-named Downtown Disney into Disney Springs, a project that would nearly double the area’s footprint. The multi-year renovation added new shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues, as well as much-needed parking structures.

Today, Disney Springs is divided into four distinct neighborhoods: Marketplace, The Landing, Town Center, and West Side. Each area has its own unique theme and offerings, providing guests with a diverse array of experiences.

Looking Ahead

As Starbucks prepares to give its Marketplace location a makeover, guests can look forward to an enhanced coffee experience at Disney Springs. While details of the refurbishment have not been released, it’s safe to assume that the updated café will continue to provide the signature products that Starbucks is known for.
