Walt Disney World’s TRON Lightcycle / Run has made a significant change by introducing a standby queue for the first time since its opening. This change marks a departure from the virtual queue system that has been in place since the attraction’s debut in April 2023.
First Day of Standby Queue
On its first day of offering a standby queue, TRON Lightcycle / Run experienced an average wait time of 58 minutes. The stat, provided by Thrill Data, suggests a manageable wait for guests. The transition to a standby queue was announced last week, and it officially began today, September 9, 2024.
For comparison, here are average wait times for popular Walt Disney World attractions for the same day, also from Thrill Data:
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure: 63 minutes*
- Slinky Dog Dash: 55 minutes
- Avatar Flight of Passage: 52 minutes
- Frozen Ever After: 51 minutes*
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: 49 minutes
- Na’vi River Journey: 45 minutes
- Peter Pan’s Flight: 44 minutes
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance: 41 minutes
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith: 40 minutes
*Does not include Extended Evening Hours for Deluxe Resort Guests.
The move to a standby queue comes after more than a year of operating under a virtual queue system. This change allows guests more flexibility in planning their day at Magic Kingdom. However, it’s important to note that TRON Lightcycle / Run is not available during Early Theme Park Entry. This perk allows Disney Resort Hotel Guests access to select attractions 30 minutes before the official park opening, but TRON Lightcycle / Run is not included in this offering.
